County Wexford

John James Murphy's homestead in Kilrane (well).

Bargy is now the name of the barony next to Forth, and these two districts had a dialect of their own until comparatively recent years. Many of the people spoke it fifty or sixty years ago. It was neither Irish nor English, but a mixture of Flemish, Gaelic, and Saxon speech (Bulfin 1907: 261).
