Carmody,
Bartolomé
(1877-1961), landowner and sheep-farmer, was born
in Saladillo, Buenos Aires,
the son of Bartholomew Carmody,
from Clahan, Co. Clare, and Ellen Carmody, from Kilkee,
Co. Clare.
Estanciero
in Carmen de Patagones, sheep-farmer, President of the
Patagones Cattle Association 1939-1945. Strongly contributed
to the rural development in southern Buenos Aires, and
supported labour activities. His estancia was a model
farm in the region. Married with Enriqueta Gilligan.
